Born in Fochville, South Africa, and raised in a middle-class Afrikaner family, Taut's recent solo exhibition, Eudaimonia, took place at MContemporary Gallery in Sydney, Australia, in 2004. In 2022, she participated in several art fairs, including the Sydney Contemporary Art Fair, Positions Berlin, and the AKAA Art Fair in Paris. Taut was a finalist in the ABSA l’Atelier exhibition (2004) and a nominee for the Fiesta Awards (2012, 2015, 2017). She received the Kanna Award for best visual art production at the KKNK Arts Festival (2014) for her solo exhibition Rubber Ever After. In 2017, she represented South Africa at the Museum Rijswijk Textile Biennale in the Netherlands. Taut currently lives and works at the foot of the Sleeping Beauty Mountain range in Riversdale, Western Cape.
