Henk Serfontein has participated in numerous curated exhibitions and presented twelve solo exhibitions throughout his career. Notable recent solo exhibitions include A Walking Shadow at Everard Read, Franschhoek and The Topography of Skin at Uitstalling Gallery in Genk, Belgium. In 2017, he presented the exhibition Winterslaap at the Stellenbosch University Art Museum during Woordfees, which featured charcoal drawings of the sleeping poet Wilma Stockenström inspired by her poem Winterslaap. The exhibition was awarded a Woordtrofee and KYKnet Fiësta awards for best visual art presentation at the Woordfees as well as best presentation at an Arts Festival. In 2023, Serfontein revisited the series and added a portrait to the Winterslaap series.
