Born in 1985 in Ermelo, Mpumalanga, Ingrid Uys lives in Johannesburg with her family. She developed her artistic skills while growing up in small towns, eventually earning her BA Fine Art Degree in 2007 from the University of Pretoria.

Uys had her first solo exhibition in 2016 at Halifax Art Gallery and has since participated in numerous shows, including a sold-out solo exhibition, In the Calm of Chaos, at the Turbine Art Fair in 2022. Her work, which focuses on birds in flight and themes of fleeting time, has received recognition, including a nomination for the 2023 Fiësta Awards.
