Notes

Born in 1966 in Durban, Jacki McInnes holds a BA(FA) (distinction) from UNISA (2001), an MFA from Michaelis, UCT (2004), and a PhD from Wits School of the Arts (2021).

Her accolades include the Mixed Media prize at M-Web New Signatures (2000) and various artist residencies. Her works are part of notable collections, including Art Bank SA and Wellesley College, Massachusetts.

Recent solo exhibitions include Filthy Rich/Dirt Poor at WAM (2021) and Cubicle at Everard Read CT (2021). Her art explores South African landscapes, utilizing shredded banknotes to comment on value, waste, and the commodification of land and resources.
