About this Item
“It’s that whole creative part of winemaking that excites me. Being able to take something in nature and then transform it into something beautiful.” - Gottfried Mocke

The Chardonnay is a premium Cuvée representing the decomposed granite soils from the Upper Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, and the shale-derived soils from the ridge.
Careful cluster selection and whole bunch pressing, followed by spontaneous fermentation in French barrique and a 14-month élevage.
Tasting Notes: The nose is generous and complex with pear, citrus and melon fruit, and hazelnut, oatmeal, and subtle oak on the palate. Taut with well-balanced finish.
