Notes
Henry Hillingford Parker spent the majority of his life in and around England. He studied at St. Martins School of Art and later at one of the Royal Academies, with many art scholars suggesting that his work was influenced by Benjamin Williams Leader (1831-1923). Parker specialised in oil paintings of picturesque landscapes, often featuring pastoral scenes, rivers, coastal views, and rural buildings. His style can be described as serene and atmospheric, yet his canvases capture a vibrant sense of movement conveyed through the energy of his brushstokes.
