A Vin Doux Naturel produced in solera style, by topping up the mother wine each vintage with a selection of the best Maury, this Solera was started in 1928.
The founders of this co-operative laid down the base of this solera in 1928. In the past, these wines from the of Roussillon were used to beef up blends. Bottled cask by cask, these are remarkable sweet wines, deeply coloured and similar to Madeira in style.

‘The casks for this Maury are kept in the roof of the Maury co-operative and the wine inside is kept for years and years to develop oxidative notes and add complexity to the wine. A solera system from which only a quarter of the liquid is ever taken out of the at a time and conditioned for bottling and then replaced with fresher wine. This particular cask was a highlight of 50 casks tasted in 2016. Heady and a ridiculous price for a wine of this age. Spice and chocolate and freshness!
