About this Item
Jean-Paul Jamet is arguably the leading producer in Côte-Rôtie and his approach has not changed over more than 40 vintages. He continues to produce hauntingly beautifully, but remarkably traditional wines. The wines of Domaine Jamet appeal to wine lovers around the world seeking classic, tensioned wines that show honesty and the soil in which they are grown. One of the most traditional wine producers in Cote-Rôtie, Jean-Paul blends 25 parcels, mostly from the Côte Brune, and uses little new oak and most of the stems. His maturations are longer than most and his wines are released later than other producers. Jean-Paul is slowly handing over custodianship of one of France’s great domaines to his son, Loïc.

Critics Ratings
‘Brilliant straw-yellow. High pitched aromas of fresh orchard fruits and lemon rind, with subtle herb and floral notes in the background. Dry and chewy in texture, offering juicy pear, bitter citrus pith flavours and a tarragon nuance coming up with air. Finishes with solid, spicy cut, lingering honeysuckle and pear skin flourishes.’ – Josh Reynolds, Vinous, 91/100 (Feb 2020)
‘Apricot, peach, saline yet ripe to give nice balance to finish. Simple, short finish.’ – Richard Hemming MW, JancisRobinson.com, 16/20 (Nov 2018)
‘Honeyed, ripe and round, the 2017 Cotes du Rhone Blanc is a blend of 50% Marsanne, 25% Viognier and 25% Roussanne with Grenache Blanc. Half was fermented and matured in barrel, half in stainless steel. It's medium to full-bodied, with notes of melon, apricot and pineapple, and it has a dry, chalky finish.’ – Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate, 90/100 (Oct 2018)
