About this Item
Château La Nerthe, located in the heart of the Provence region, 80km north of Marseille, is a magnificent, 500-year-old property that has become one to watch over the past two decades. The vines are spread over 92 hectares of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, made up of more than 57 parcels that represent all the different terroirs of the appellation. Over the many generations, the estate has received the most conscientious care from its successive owners, including aristocrats, agronomists and more. Since 1998, the estate has been working organically and the attention in both the vineyards and cellar hassled to some very notable wines.

Critics Ratings
‘Still youthful and not yet fully mature, the 2007 Châteauneuf du Pape is full-bodied and impeccably balanced, with a fresh, focused bouquet of cassis, licorice and charred meats. This cuvee always ages beautifully, and this is one of the more fresh, lively and focused 2007s out there--and it still has present tannin. It’s certainly enjoyable today but should be even better with a year or two of additional cellaring. Drink 2015-2032.’ - Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, 94/100 (Feb 2017)
‘Surprisingly floral nose with a touch of coffee and spice. Fresh and silky. Fine tannins, long and rounded. 48% Grenache, 29% Syrah, 22% Mourvèdre, and others.’ - Julia Harding MW, JancisRobinson.com, 17.5/20 (Jun 2010)
'Ruby-red. Highly aromatic nose of dark berries, cherry-cola, smoky herbs and dried flowers. Deep in dark fruit flavor but lively and precise, with slow-building sweetness and a velvety texture. I like this wine's blend of richness and energy. The finish is sweet, focused and impressively incisive.' - Josh Reynolds, Vinous, 92/100 (Feb 2010)
'La Nerthe is usually quite structured, so while the 2007 is riper and creamier than most vintages, it still retains decent acidity to balance things out. Leather, spice and cherry flavors pick up hints of coffee and chocolate on the finish. Drink it over the next 10–12 years.' - Joe Czerwinski, Wine Enthusiast, 91/100 (Oct 2011)
