About this Item
Château La Nerthe, located in the heart of the Provence region, 80km north of Marseille, is a magnificent, 500-year-old property that has become one to watch over the past two decades. The vines are spread over 92 hectares of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, made up of more than 57 parcels that represent all the different terroirs of the appellation. Over the many generations, the estate has received the most conscientious care from its successive owners, including aristocrats, agronomists and more. Since 1998, the estate has been working organically and the attention in both the vineyards and cellar hassled to some very notable wines.

Critics Ratings
‘A racy, driven, modern-style version, with lots of black currant, plum, blackberry and briar flavors stitched together with suave toast, cocoa, tobacco and mineral notes. Long, fruit-filled finish. Beautifully rendered. Drink now through 2015.’ – James Molesworth, Wine Spectator, 95/100 (Apr 2005)
‘A cuvee that is just coming on the market at the end of 2004 is La Nerthe’s 2001 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee des Cadettes (a blend of 48% Grenache, 26% Syrah, 18% Mourvedre, 6% Cinsault, and 2% miscellaneous grapes). I retasted it on my September visit, and rated it 95+. There are only 1,000 cases of this spectacular Chateauneuf du Pape. It requires 2-4 years of cellaring, but it should keep for two decades.’ – Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, 95/100 (Dec 2004)
