About this Item
The Sabon family has a long history in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, tracing their roots back to 1540. However, the first wine bottled under the family name was in 1921. Domaine Roger Sabon was founded by the namesake in 1952 and is currently run by Roger’s sons, Denis and Gilbert. The estate consists of 50 hectares split up between Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Lirac, Côtes-du-Rhône and Vin de France. Robert Parker states: ‘this has long been one of my favorite estates in the Southern Rhône… The style here is a brilliant combination of the best traditional techniques married to a handful of modern nuances.’
'All of the 2013s and 2012s from the team at Roger Sabon are up near the crème de la crème of the vintage.' - Wine Advocate

Critics Ratings
'Starting with the 2013s, the 2013 Châteauneuf du Pape Renaissance Blanc (30% each of Grenache Blanc, Clairette and Roussanne, with 10% Bourboulenc) is a steely, mineral-driven effort that has plenty of citrus, pepper and crushed rock in its medium-bodied, juicy profile. Drink it over the coming 2-3 years.' – Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, 90/100 (Oct 2014)
'Light, bright yellow. Ripe nectarine and melon aromas are complimented by suggestions of chalky minerals, vanilla and honey, Fleshy pear nectar and peach liqueur flavors show very good clarity and thrust and convey a bracing citrus zest quality. Tightens up on the clinging finish, which repeats the lemon and mineral notes.' – Josh Raynolds, Vinous, 90/100 (Feb 2016)
