Critics Ratings
'Full Circle has scaled new heights in 2015, as have several top South African reds. This cuvée of predominantly Shiraz with Grenache, Mourvèdre and Viognier is rich, intense, glossy and very aromatic, with considerable underlying structure and tannic foundations. Focused, spicy and stony with a thread of refreshing minerality and fine oak. 2020-28.' - Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2017, 96/100
'Depth, complexity & power combine in impressive, darkly spicy 2015, shiraz dashes grenache, mourvèdre & 2% viognier - the last evident in peach-tinged perfume & lingering finish. As in 2014, commanding but balanced, muscular but not chunky, the all-new oak unobtrusive.' - Platter’s SA Wine Guide 2018, 4.5* (93/100)
'Purple-edged deep vermillion. Plush red and black fruit aromas, bruised raspberry and youngberry whiffs. Oak underlying the fruit but not standing apart lots of tannin at present but all soft and creamy. A wine worth keeping as the sweet fruit emerges.' - Michael Fridjhon, 94/100 (May 2018)
'The 2015 Full Circle is at least 85% Shiraz complemented by other Rhône varieties matured for 20-21 months in new French oak. It comes from three vineyards on the estate that always go into this label, just 22 barrels made. What marks this out is just how well that new oak is disguised by the attractive red and black fruit, here complemented by attractive spice box and Chinese five spice aromas. The palate is well balanced with bold and assertive tannin, a fine thread of acidity, very good depth with a juicy and generous finish laden with white pepper and clove-infused fruit. It is a little brash, but as usual it pulls it off with style.' - Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, 92/100 (Apr 2017)
