About this Item
The Feraud family of Domaine Feraud has their history in winemaking dating back to 1670. In 1964, Paul Feraud began producing and selling his own wine, but it was his daughter, Laurence, who convinced him to create an independent family estate which was founded in 1987 and named Domaine du Pegau. Pegau is considered one of the best estates in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and their traditional-styled wines are considered some of the best in the world.
The flagship of the Domaine du Pegau, the Cuvée Réservée represents the Domaine over the years. A blend of 13 grape varieties, mainly Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre, the Cuvée Réservée reveals the typical characteristics of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape soils.

Critics Ratings
‘Savory notes of bramble, smoke and leather juxtapose forward plum, cherry and strawberry in this full-bodied wine. It's a penetrating, mouthfilling sip that lingers on the palate, finishing on soft, furry tannins. Approachable already, this concentrated wine should improve through 2025 and hold further.’ – Anna Lee C. Iijima, Wine Enthusiast, 96/100 (Nov 2018)
‘Now that it has been in bottle a while, the 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Reservee is looking even better than I projected based on last year's prebottling sample. It's all violets, cherries, subtle allspice and clove and traditional garrigue notes of lavender and thyme. Full-bodied and rich, it's crazy complex, adding hints of tar and black olives on the long, silky finish. It should evolve beautifully over the next two decades.’ – Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate, 96/100 (Aug 2018)
‘Solid, with a muscular core of dark fig, blackberry, raspberry paste flavors mixed liberally with anise, savory, tobacco and singed mesquite notes. Shows a sanguine thread on the finish, where everything knits together. This has ample depth and character. Best from 2020 through 2035.’ – James Molesworth, Wine Spectator, 94/100 (Aug 2018)
‘Vivid ruby. An exotically perfumed bouquet evokes ripe raspberry, cherry and garrigue, while a suave floral element expands with air. Fleshy, seamless and broad on the palate, offering intense black raspberry and fruitcake flavors that are braced and lifted by a spine of juicy acidity. The floral note builds as the wine opens up and carries through the sweet, strikingly long finish, which leaves behind red fruit liqueur and licorice notes.’ – Josh Raynolds, Vinous, 93-95/100 (Mar 2017)
'Dark crimson. Heady and ripe. Lots of black cherry fruit and then rather dry tannins on the end. Just a slight lack of density on the mid palate but there is certainly life here.' - Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, 16.5/20 (Oct 2016)
