The name of this wine pays tribute to the man who recognized the potential of Rustenberg ,and bought the farm in 1941, reuniting the property, restoring its buildings and investing in its potential to make world class wines. This site-specific Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the oldest vineyard on the estate, high up on the Simonsberg.

The 2009 was been hailed as the best of the decade and is powerfully built, winning International Judges' Trophy and Gold Medal at the Old Mutual Wine Show.
Matured for 24 months in French oak, 64% new. Intense black in colour. The nose shows dark fruit and attractive oak notes. The palate possesses extraordinary power - great fruit concentration, fresh acidity and firm but fine tannins. The finish, meanwhile, is long and salty.
