'The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon, the estate's flagship label, is changed a little in recent years in terms of reducing the canopy and ipso facto the acidity levels. The nose is very classic and tertiary in style, not far removed from a fine Graves, the 36% new wood nicely interwoven. The palate is medium-bodied slightly furry tannin. There is good weight here, some lovely tobacco and cigar notes surfacing towards the finish that is very Bordeaux-like in style. This is the best Cabernet Sauvignon that I have tasted from Waterford Estate. Drink this over the next 5-8 years.' - Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, 90/100 (Nov 2015)
