Wedged between the Stellenbosch and Helderberg mountains, situated on the beautiful Mont Fleur farm, is the boutique De Trafford winery. The Trafford family purchased the land in 1976 and a small vineyard was in place by 1983.

A selection of of the best barrels of Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon were chosen from wines produced from the magnificent vineyard site (Mont Fleur Vineyard) high up on the eastern slopes of the Helderberg mountain. The soil is a deep red decomposed granite – Hutton type. The vines are close planted, and at an average age of 8 years.
