About this Item
Meerlust Estate, owned by the Myburgh family, has been in the family for eight generations. Located 5km from False Bay, the property was given the name 'Meerlust' from the original owner, which means 'pleasure of the sea'. The Meerlust name is synonymous with tradition, elegance and longevity. In fact, it was their Cabernet Sauvignon, produced since 1975, that was the first to carry the Meerlust label.

Critics Ratings
'Red fruited, vanilla, cola, sweet fruit with a deeply rich and ripe core. Quite primary, with a hint of greenery and cold coffee. The high acidity and fine tannins make it a little hard, but fresh and juicy. Drink now to 2030.' - Roland Peens, 89/100 (Feb 2021)
'Youthful vigour and concentration on the 91, revealing a layer of camphor and mint weaved through the powerful dark fruit. Very typical Meerlust Cabernet site expression, displaying the forward herbal perfume with the generous fruit and all new, well integrated oak. Glorious filigree tannins.' - Higgo Jacobs, 93/100 (Feb 2021)
'Extremely well crafted; loads of fruit and tannins yet a supple finish. Full in body, featuring wonderful concentration of plum, tobacco and black cherry flavors.’ – Wine Spectator (Jun 1995)
