About this Item
Intense dark colour. The nose shows restraint, with deep underlying aromas, of complex blue and black berry perfumes. Cedary aromas, so typical of a Jonkershoek wine. The palate is nervous and fresh followed by fine, but dense tannins.

Critics Ratings
'Notably dark crimson. Pretty subtle, intriguing, appetising nose. Lots of intensity and juice. Also lots of tannic structure but a glamorous, non-flashy whole. Aromatic with lots of clean fruit.' - Jancis Robinson, JancisRobinson.com, 17/20 (Jan 2020)
'SA classic from prime Stellenbosch terroir, aged 18 months in all-new oak. 2015's pristine cassis & black plum fruit wraps around fine tannin spine. Full bodied & dense, like 2014 (92 pts), equally ageworthy.' - Platter's SA Wine Guide 2019, 4.5* (93/100)
'The shaded Jonkershoek Valley is a special site for Cabernet Sauvignon, although this now comes from a leased vineyard rather than Stark-Condé. Deeply coloured, with firm, layered, serious tannins, notes of cassis and mulberry and an undertone of wild herbs.' - Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2018, 93/100
