Critics Ratings
'A Cape benchmark of noble bearing & athletic build. 2014 floral violets lead out suave red/mulberry fruit to astoundingly complex, persistent savoury conclusion. Elegant & stellar, with substance for decade-plus cellaring.' - Platter's SA Wine Guide 2018, 5* (95/100)
'The 2014 Mount Bullet Merlot, due to be released later in 2017, has a powerful bouquet with blackberry, raspberry coulis, sage and cedar aromas, a little opaque compared to the 2013. The palate is medium-bodied with well-integrated oak, plenty of sappy red and black fruit laced with white pepper and cloves, demonstrating more structure on the finish than the previous vintage. Give this a year in bottle and you should have a fine Merlot.' - Neal Martin, Wine Advocate (Apr 2017)
'The evocatively named Mount Bullet has established itself as the Cape’s outstanding, collectible Merlot, which is quite an achievement in only a decade. Rich, savoury and complex, it’s a layered, nuanced, plushly textured rendition of the grape, with scented lead pencil and blackcurrant leaf notes and very well integrated oak. 2019-29' - Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2017, 95/100
