Notes
The present lot consists of a special double issue of VERVE which features the biblical-themed drawings created by Marc Chagall between 1958 and 1959. These works were not included in his previous Bible illustrations, which were etched and published in issues 33/34 of VERVE.
This edition comprises of 96 black-and-white reproductions and 24 color lithographs, along with a specially designed cover. The printing was completed on July 29, 1960, with black heliogravures produced by Draeger Frères and color lithographs by Mourlot Frères.
