About this Item
Trizanne Barnard went solo with her own brand in 2008 after years of building experience locally at Klein Constantia, launching Anwilka wines and various international vintages. Trizanne’s focus since her own first vintage, has always been on 2 very diverse wine regions; Elim and the Swartland. Trizanne lives in Kommetjie and makes her wines in Noordhoek. Apart from everything wine-related: making wine, judging on various panels and sampling the finest, she is an avid surfer who draws patience and respect for nature from each aquatic experience.
Harvested from three vineyards in Elim, each from a different clone, on soils varying from shale, gravel and Ferricrete also known as Koffieklip.

‘From three different Elim vineyards, each planted to a different clone. Matured for 11 months in old French oak. It’s all there on the nose – red and black fruit, olive, fynbos, pepper and spice. The palate is dense yet fresh with fine tannins. Not without heft at 14.5% alcohol.’ - Christian Eedes, Winemag.co.za, 92/100 (Nov 2016)
‘The 2015 Syrah Reserve comes from three different parcels from decomposed granite and shale soils, the vines planted between 1997 and 2005, undergoing a natural ferment in 225 and 500-liter used barriques. This has a very composed bouquet with mulberry, redcurrant and violet aromas, very expressive and showing excellent varietal typicité. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, certainly a cooler style of Syrah, although there is a decent 14.5% alcohol (due to the opening of the canopies). There is a slight tingle of white pepper on the finish that lingers in the mouth. 2018-2028’ - Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, 91/100 (Apr 2017
