About this Item

2015 Blue Lady Cabernet Sauvignon
3 (1 x 3) 750ml

Situated in the foothills of Stellenbosch's iconic Simonsberg Mountain and with a history dating back to 1771, Warwick Wine Estate was purchased in 1902 by a Commanding Officer of the Warwickshire regiment. He renamed the farm Warwick as a tribute to his regime. Warwick's terroir offers the perfect confluence of elements to grow grapes of consistently outstanding quality. In the cellar, careful vinification yields fine wines with true varietal character and an honest expression of their origin. Warwick deeply cherishes what nature has provided and is committed to protecting and nurturing the land for generations to come. They dedicate time and passion to ensuring quality in every facet of their craft.

Back in 1984, the single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon block was called “La Femme Bleu”. At the time, it felt like a French name worked as a tribute to the region of Bordeaux. Of course, we now know that the coolest thing about this iconic wine is that it’s 100% African, and demonstrates to the world the true power of Stellenbosch terroir.

Critics Ratings

‘Intriguing, multi-layered nose of violet, crème de cassis, blueberry and black cherry. Palate has impressive focus, with pristine fruit and wonderful textural harmony; class in a bottle! 2019-2027’ - Decanter, 93/100 (Aug 2018)

‘Decadent black cherry and boysenberry set the stage for a ripe and fruity pour, with supporting notes of licorice root, cedar and sweet wood spice. The plush texture is grounded in more rich berry fruitiness, with tones of cherry pit and cocoa lingering on the close.’ - Lauren Buzzeo, Wine Enthusiast, 91/100

‘Bright crimson. Much subtler nose than most even if the palate is more obviously pure cassis. Clean and fresh. 2022-2032’ - Jancis Robinson, jancisrobinson.com, 16.5/20 (May 2020)
