2015 Vintage - International
About the SessionFurther afield, the vintage also achieved greatness in classic regions such as Burgundy, Bordeaux, Tuscany and Piedmont. 2015 was an excellent year as Europe had an intensely hot summer and many regions were affected by drought. Although the top wines are still young, the sale offers a range of attractive buys that are ready to be enjoyed.
About this Item
Founded in 1858 as Domaine Robert Arnoux, the domaine was renamed in 2008 to reflect the fact that Pascal Lachaux, husband of Florence Arnoux, was running the estate. Sixth-generation Charles has since taken the helm.
‘A bright new star’ (Jancis Robinson MW), Charles Lachaux has overseen a meteoric rise in the quality of viticulture, range and profile at Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux, ‘a key member of an influential group of younger vigerons’ (Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy), with allocations increasingly difficult to acquire.

‘Like the Bourgogne, this is also pure, airy and super fresh with its elegant array of red currant, cherry, spice and rose petal scents. There is good underlying tension to the vibrant and lacy flavors that exude a fine bead of energy on the lightly mineral-inflected finale. This is good stuff too as well as very Chambolle in character. 2021+’ – Allen Meadows, Burghound.com (Jan 2017)
‘Bright red-ruby. Very ripe aromas of black cherry, violet and bitter chocolate. Plush, fat and sweet, offering lovely fullness and roundness for village wine. A rather dark-fruit style of Chambolle villages, finishing with serious but fine-grained tannins and very good length.’ – Stephen Tanzer, Vinous (Nov 2016)
