Long-term winemaker Pieter Ferreira, aka ‘Mr Bubbles’, has released his first own-label MCC – a Blanc de Blancs. Christian Eedes reckons it's ‘categorically the best bottle-fermented sparkling wine I’ve ever drunk from South Africa’. It shows beautiful depth and complexity and reminds one of serious white Burgundy. Pieter is chairman of the Cap Classique Producers Association (CCPA) and has always been passionate about bubbly. He has been instrumental at Graham Beck and his dedication and craftsmanship has seen his reap countless high profile awards both locally and abroad.

‘Luminous straw yellow in colour, the aromatics are quite beautiful: blossom and fresh straw precede white peach, lemon and Granny Smith apple, a touch of ginger, and the vaguest hint of smoky reduction in the background. The palate, meanwhile, is pure and light yet full of flavour. Electric acidity, a fine mousse and a bone-dry finish complete the picture.’ - Christian Eedes, Winemag.co.za, 95/100
