'Radio Lazarus is now sourced from two Stellenbosch vineyards - one at 400 and the other at 450 metres - but remains a varietal Chenin of remarkable focus and concentration. Old wood and amphora-fermented, it's saline, pithy and stony with ripe leesy, hay and honey notes supported by minerality. Drink: 2016-23' - Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2016, 95/100
'From old chenin vines on Bottelary Hills, minuscule yield in 2015. Uncompromising in youth: taut, intense, earthy but undercurrent of richness & ripe peach hints at benefits of laying down as long as you can resist. Native ferment in third old oak & clay pots.' - Platter's SA Wine Guide 2017, 5*
'From two Bottelary vineyards of Chenin Blanc: the first planted on Goede Hoop in 1978 and the second on Sterhuis in 1970. Very aromatic with notes of lime, lemon, green apple and a little gravel-road dustiness. Extraordinary fruit purity and lip-smacking acidity - this wine is very finely honed and wonderfully direct to drink. Total production: 1 908 bottles.' - Christian Eedes, Winemag.co.za, 96/100 (Jul 2016)
'The 2015 Radio Lazarus has an attractive bouquet with the almond and hazelnut aromas that I remarked upon at time of release. With time there are honeysuckle and jasmine aromas joining the fray. The palate is crisp and retains that waxy texture, orange rind and walnut at the front end with a whip-cracking salinity towards the finish. Superb.' - Neal Martin, Vinous, 94/100 (Jun 2019)
