About this Item

2015 Conclusion
6 (1 x 6) 750ml

After nearly 2 decades at La Motte, Jacques Borman established family-owned Boschkloof in 1996 and built a reputation with these quality, structured, long-lived Stellenbosch reds, most notably Syrah, earning him a membership with the Cape Winemakers Guild. Around the turn of the last decade the arrival of his son Reenen onto the scene (also behind the successful Patatsfontein, Kottabos and Sons of Sugarland) saw the bar being raised even further, with many commentators tipping him as one to watch in terms of next generation Cape winemakers.

Boschkloof Conclusion is a true expression of good grape quality and terroir. The wine was made as natural as possible. On the nose the aromas are blueberry, mixed herbs, bruised plum and some lovely cigar box flavours. The wine is highly concentrated with a big, but elegant mid-palate and a long finish. This wine has great potential for ageing.

Critics Ratings

‘A barrel selection of nearly equal cab franc & cab with merlot; always serious, with depth & concentration. 2015’s tannins firm but ripe, built for the longer haul, sheathed by glossy fruit for immediate enjoyment but the best lies ahead.’ - Platter's SA Wine Guide 2019, 4.5* (91/100)

‘The 2015 consists of 40% Cabernet Franc, 39% Cabernet Sauvignon and 21% Merlot and was matured in new French oak for 20 months. The nose shows a floral top note before dark fruit, vanilla, turned earth and spice. The palate is rich and full (alcohol: 14.5) with plenty of sweet, dense fruit and velvety smooth tannins, the finish just about dry. Built to impress.’ – Christian Eedes, Winemag.co.za, 91/100 (Jun 2019)

‘Conclusion feels like a bit of a outlier in the Boschkloof range, given the estate’s focus on Syrah, but this three-way Bordeaux style blend is a taut, structured, classic Stellenbosch red: minty, sweet and plummy with a grassy undertone. 2018-25’ - Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2017, 92/100

‘Mid healthy crimson. Now there are some flavours I haven't seen in a while! Fresh, healthy, ripe, but not overripe New World Bordeaux fruit.... All of it a very charming, well integrated blend without any excesses.Sappy energy. The oak influence is only just discernible and will presumably disappear with time. Worth hanging on to. reall petty smart. No more than medium bodied.’ – Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, 17/20 (Oct 2017)
