About this Item

2015 The Long Fuse Cabernet Sauvignon
3 (1 x 3) 1500ml

Gary and Kathy Jordan have been making world-class wines since 1993 on this Stellenbosch Kloof property, and today leads a multinational commercial success that they built up from a family concern. Gary's parents, Ted and Sheelagh, bought the 146 hectare Stellenbosch property in 1982, and embarked on an extensive replanting program, specializing in classic varieties suited to the different soils and slopes.

To create the perfect soil environment for the Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards, many large, sub-surface granite boulders were excavated and blown up with dynamite. One of the boulders required over 300 charges, necessitating a very long fuse.

Critics Ratings

'Matured for 23 months in barrel, partially new. The nose reveals red and black berries, a touch of leafiness, vanilla, and appealing hints of evolution. The palate is beautifully balanced, showcasing vibrant fruit, fresh acidity, and already mellow tannins, the finish gently savoury. Wonderfully enjoyable right now.' - WINEMAG.co.za 10-Year-Old Wine Report 2025, 95/100

'This is only the second vintage of The Long Fuse, but it builds on the quality of the 2014. Made with new clone material on the north-facing slopes of Stellenbosch Kloof, it’s scented and refined, with stylish 60% new oak and notes of red fruits, cassis and cut grass. 2020-28.' - Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2018, 93/100

‘Full, luscious, creamy style — expansive, rounded and easy to appreciate, with black bramble fruit partnering hints of coffee bean, cedar and chocolate. 2019-2025’ - Decanter (Aug 2018)
