David & Nadia
About the SessionDavid & Nadia Sadie’s thrilling, terroir-driven Swartland wines have shown incredible elegance, concentration and consistency over the past two decades.
About this Item
The David & Nadia Chenin Blanc from the Swartland focusses on various Old Vine Vineyards, with plantings ranging from 1968 till 1986. The wine is based on granite from the Paardeberg, blended with shale/schist from the east, more clay rich soils from the north and iron rich soils from the western parts of the Swartland. Dry land farmed bush vines have stood the test of time and it showcases the ultimate reason why Chenin blanc is their main focus in the Swartland.

Critics Ratings
'Super-tangy nose. Honeycomb scents, broad floral palate and very gentle acidity with just a little (attractive) kumquat-peel bitterness on the end. Already approachable but this should last very well too. Incredible persistence!' - Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, 17/20 (July 2022)
"The more Chenin Blanc we can make as a country, the better," says David Sadie, and it's hard to disagree when they are as good as this one. Drawn from eight vineyards planted between 1968 and 1986, it's youthful, lightly wooded and textured, with thatch and fennel aromas, some phenolic backbone and citrus and umami flavours.' - Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2022, 93/100
'Cohesive 2021 melds orchard fruit & spice. Rich, broad yet thrillingly compact & vital, with acid balance on point. Concentrated yet light.' - Platter's SA Wine Guide 2023, 5* (95/100)
