A Portuguese rosewood and brass-mounted writing table, 19th century
the rectangular top inset with a gilt-tooled red leather writing surface, enclosed by a carved spiral border above three frieze drawers, the sides and reverse with faux drawers enclosed by beaded borders, raised on compressed bun turned tapering and twist-turned legs, conforming box-stretcher, united by a square block headed by plaques and pierced finials, raised on bun feet, with depository label for Waring & Gillow (1932) LTD, 180 Oxford Street, Removal and Warehousing Department, 76cm high, 152,8cm wide, 78,4cm deep
