A Chinese celadon jade carving of an archaistic form, Qing Dynasty, 18th/19th century
the front and reverse of the arrow-shaped body carved with taotie masks, the sides carved in relief with chilongs, the top carved with a snarling Buddhist lion, the stone with white and brown inclusions, 13cm high; suspended by a red tassel from a carved hardwood bamboo surround with openwork sides, set to a shaped base with raised flowerhead finial, raised on four shaped bracket feet, the stand 32cm high
