About this Item

A Japanese Satsuma two-handled vase, by Kinkozan zo, Meiji period, 1868-1912
baluster, the front and back enamelled with a festival, the banners with script, the reverse with entertainers before the entrance to a temple with cherry blossoms in the distance, the gilded neck moulded with shaped handles incorporating a petal-shaped panel to either side enclosing a pheasant amongst wisteria and two further birds amongst blossoms, enclosed by a gilt Greek-key border, raised on a low foot, iron-red and gilt Kinkozan zo seal mark, impressed Kinkozan zo mark, minor hairline cracks, 22,7cm high
