About the SessionThe Black Coffee Foundation contributes towards nation building and the rehabilitation of South Africa by continually raising funds through CD sales, donations from the private sector, donations from government institutions, as well as foreign investors. The foundation is committed to helping and uplifting the destitute and disabled people of South Africa by analyzing their needs and providing for those needs in a sustainable manner that promotes education, independence and social integration. The Black Coffee Foundation was launched in 2010.
The auction will be live streamed from the private event.

Vilafonté & Black Coffee Foundation present the ultimate ‘Insiders' Wine Experience. Vilafonté owner Mike Ratcliffe and the Black Coffee Foundation present a 6 bottle multi-vintage vertical case of Vilafonté Series C laser-engraved with the winning bidders name. The bottles could be personalised and signed by owner Michael Ratcliffe and Black Coffee for the generous bidder.
The successful bidder will receive a private tutored wine & barrel tasting for 18 people hosted personally by Michael and/or Vilafonté head winemaker Chris de Vries at the Vilafonté Winery, or subject to prior arrangement, elsewhere in the world. Dates for the wine tasting are strictly subject to availability and appropriate flight and hotel arrangements if not held at the winery. The Black Coffee Foundation has embarked on a significant fundraising initiative designed to bring the organisation’s vision of establishing a BC Music College for the local community to life.
Vilafonté is a 28-year-old luxury winemaking venture founded by the Head of Viticulture from Opus One, the head winemaker from Mondavi in California and the former owner of Warwick in South Africa. Michael Ratcliffe is co-founder of Vilafonté, Chairman of Stellenbosch Wine and Chair of Stellenbosch Tourism. Vilafonté Series C received 99 points from Robert Parker - the highest rated red wine from South Africa ever. Vilafonté was recently announced as ‘Best red wine producer in the World' at the 2024 international Wine & Spirits Competition in London on November 12th 2024. Vilafonté was crowned as the ‘Best Bordeaux blend in the World' at the Six-Nations wine competition in 2019.
