"I generally prefer to express emotion in my sculpture through the gestures of the body as opposed to the face, so the nude allows me the entire surface of the human form to articulate this, through gesture and muscular tension. Also, to me, the naked human form represents our original 'wild' state, which ties in with the theme of our relationship to wilderness"
