Here we see a composition of the artist’s face made up from bar detritus, crushed cigarette packets and pills. This was one of the works the artist displayed at his final year Michaelis exhibition and was originally presented flat with another self-portrait, this time made from sweets and showing a much more innocent visage. The audience was encouraged to scoop up the sweets and the final artwork thus became visible.
