About this Item
Aldo Conterno alongside his brother, Giovanni, began managing their family winery in 1961. After some time, Aldo parted ways, establishing Poderi Aldo Conterno in 1969 in Bussia, the heart of the Barolo wine region. Today it is run by his three sons Franco, Stefano and Giacomo. The wines of Aldo Conterno are considered some of the finest in the region and Aldo was considered a pioneer and visionary.

Critics Ratings
‘This is one of the most impressive wine estates in all of Italy, perhaps in the world,’ writes James Suckling, continuing to state ‘Poderi Aldo Conterno makes some of the most exquisite red wines on the planet.’
'Very ripe, almost Port-like character, with wood, prune and toffee on the palate. Full body. Lots of wood, as always. But stylish, big and layered. Still needs time to resolve the wood.--1998 Piedmont blind retrospective (2008). Best after 2012.' - James Suckling Winespectator.com 93/100 (2008)
