About this Item
The Domenico Clerico estate, located in Monforte d’Alba – the heart of Barolo, started producing wines in 1976 when Domenico took over his father’s vineyard. Domenico, who passed away in 2017, was a pioneer of producing single cru wines in Barolo. He sought out the best plots in the region and grew his vineyards from the small 4-hectare estate he inherited from his father. He was considered a modernist and brought new enthusiasm to Barolo wines.

Critics Ratings
'The 2004 Barolo Pajana is the most approachable of Clerico's 2004s today. Dark, rich and sumptuous, the 2004 hits the palate with all of the exuberance and power that is typical of this site. Although quite fleshy and supple on the palate, the 2004 remains primary and youthful. With some air, the 2004 is beautifully expressive today, but it can also be cellared for another decade or more.' - Antonio Galloni Vinous.com 94/100 (2015)
