About this Item
The house of E. Normandin was founded in 1755 in Châteauneuf-sur-Charente. They were known for producing high quality products using traditional methods and distributed them around France and overseas. Later, they merged with other Cognac houses and, in 1976, became part of Gemaco.
This bottle was bought on the 1952 furniture Auction of Monterey House in Klaasenbosch Bishopscourt (now Pam Golding Cape Town Head Office). It belonged to Hugh Tevis Jnr and was probably already fairly old then. It has been in ownership of the same family ever since. Unfortunately it is not vintaged, so it's very hard to tell the exact age, but it was likely bottled before the turn of the 20th century and is in fine condition.
