About this Item
Domaine Gentaz-Dervieux no longer exists and its vineyards have become part of Domaine René Rostaing. Gentaz-Dervieux remains a famous domaine and its remaining bottles of wine are extremely rare and sought-after, often only sold on auction.
The Gentaz-Dervieux Côte-Rôtie 1991 was one of the last vintages made by Marius Gentaz, and in 2007, there were believed to be less than 50 bottles left worldwide.

Critics Ratings
'Deep ruby-red. Penetrating, perfumed aromas of cassis, iron, leather and brown spices; here one smells the absence of new oak without picking up any suggestion of old wood. Vibrant, taut and high in acidity; violet and pepper flavors are just beginning to evolve. Has a truly noble rusticity. The tannins are extremely fine. A classic example of a Cote Rotie made from the petit serine - the "real" syrah that has been largely supplanted by clonal selections since World War II. A wine of great finesse. Marius Gentaz, alas, retired in 1993.' - Stephen Tanzer Vinous.com 94+/100 (1998)
