About this Item

2000 Barolo Brunate Le Coste
1 (1 x 1) 1500ml

Giuseppe Rinaldi is one of the Piedmont’s most highly regarded producers and a leading standard-bearer of old-school Langhe wines. Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Rinaldi, a true traditionalist, took over the estate from his father in 1992, and continued making the traditional-styled wines that had become increasingly sought-after. Rinaldi always believed that the best wines from Barolo were blends from several sites and his most prominent wines were blends from the Brunate and Le Coste, and the Cannubi and Ravera vineyards respectively, and were labeled as such. In 2018, Beppe passed away at age of 69 and his wife, Alessia, took over the management of the family business together with their daughters Marta and Carlotta, who oversee the winemaking and vineyard upkeep. Today, Giuseppe Rinaldi remains one of the Barolo’s most talked-about, old-style producers.

Critics Ratings

'The 2000 Barolo Brunate/Le Coste, tasted from magnum, is one of the wines of the vintage. Still imposing and massively structured, it is also one of the most imposing 2000s. It possesses marvelous richness and depth, with just enough radiance to make it approachable today. Almost. Readers who can still find magnums of the 2000 should not hesitate. This is a magnificent wine.' - Antonio Galloni Vinous.com 96/100 (2011)
