About this Item
In 1803 Jean Rouchut purchased the land that today is known as Château L'Église Clinet. In 1882 a partnership between the Rouchut family and the Constant family came about and the two families produced and sold Bordeaux wine together for many years. For a time, the property was more popular in farming than in winemaking, however, that changed in 1983, when Denis Durantou took over. After two years under his management, the château’s status was on its way up and continued improving with time.
Today the wine from Château L'Église Clinet is one of the best of Pomerol.

Critics Ratings
'The 2001 l’Eglise-Clinet is a wine that I have encountered many times both from bottle and magnum. It is a superb Pomerol with a crystalline bouquet that exudes pure red berry fruit laced with smoke and truffle, almost Burgundian in style with immense precision. The palate is medium-bodied with wonderful harmony and precision thanks to its filigree tannin. Such is the elegance on display here that it belies the power and length, ferrous notes, even a hint of curry leaf furnishing the finish. Superb.' - Neal Martin Vinous.com 94/100 (2019)
