About this Item
After global travels and living in Japan for more than two decades, Hans-Peter Schröder relocated to Stellenbosch and bought the beautiful Oude Nektar farm in the Jonkershoek Valley in the late 1980s. He was later joined by son-in-law José Conde, a native of Kansas City, who took up the reins in the cellar with both passion and precision, unlocking the potential of the Jonkershoek terroir.
The 2015 vintage is being hailed as one of the best vintages of the past 20 years. Since its maiden vintage in 2000, this has been one of South Africa’s most consistently awarded Cabernets.

Critics Ratings
‘Oldest Cabernet Sauvignon block on this Jonkershoek estate delivers intense but refined, silky 2015. Dense dark fruit core and sexy cedar from all French oak (70% new) and maiden dab Cabernet Franc. Deceptively easy, will reward patience.’ - Platter’s SA Wine Guide 2018, 5* (95/100)
‘Stellenbosch doesn’t make many better Cabernet-based reds than this, sourced from a single site at 340 metres. Blended with Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc (but no Merlot for the first time), it’s an aromatic, beautifully balanced style, with notes of wild herbs and pine resin, dense, savoury tannins and incredible palate length. Drink 2020-30.’ - Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2017, 95/100
