A silver-plate claret jug, John Sherwood & Sons, Birmingham, late 19th/early 20th century
the bulbous body moulded and engraved with fruit, flowerheads, scrolls and vacant cartouches, raised on a domed circular footrim similarly decorated, the side applied with a scrolling handle surmounted by a dragon, the concave hinged cover with beaded finial, distortion to the footrim and cover, dents, 38cm high
