About this Item

2010 Margaux
2 (1 x 2) 1500ml

With a history dating back to the 17th century, Château Paveil de Luze is one of the oldest properties in the Médoc. In 1862, Baron Alfred de Luze bought this magnificent 120-hectare estate, giving the château his name, and made his wines known around the world. After the Siberian winter of 1956 destroyed a large part of the vineyard, Baron Geoffroy de Luze went on to restore the property to its former glory. Thus ensued a complete renovation, including replanting of the vineyards and restoring the vats and cellars. Today, the property is managed by the 7th generation of De Luze custodians – Frédéric de Luze, his two sisters, Marguerite and Catherine, and all their children.

Critics Ratings

‘De Luze, who is the president of the Alliance des Cru Bourgeois, has produced a dense, ruby/purple-colored wine exhibiting notes of forest floor, spring flowers, blueberry, black raspberry and cassis. This wine looks even more impressive than the 2009, which was another terrific sleeper of the vintage. A superb cru bourgeois that behaves like a classified growth, this brilliant wine can be drunk early on because of its sweet tannin and low acidity, or cellared for 15 or more years. Bravo!’ - Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, 92/100 (Feb 2013)

‘30% Merlot, 70% Cabernet Sauvignon. Dark crimson. Rather reticent dark fruit on the nose. Gently leafy. Fine, upright refined tannins.’ - Julia Harding MW, JancisRobinson.com, 17/20 (Sept 2012)
