About this Item

2004 Christine
6 (1 x 6) 750ml

Buitenverwachting is one of the historical jewels in the crown of South Africa’s oldest wine region, Constantia, just outside of Cape Town. Dating back to 1796, this beautiful property is currently owned by the Maack family who have been putting quality and legacy at the forefront of their stewardship of the farm and its wines.

Although the valley is chiefly known for its sweets and complex Sauvignons, the Christine is widely revered and awarded for its elegance, structure and age-worthiness.

Critics Ratings

‘Cape fixture as one of the finest, classic-minded and long-lived Bordeaux blends. Cabernet Sauvignon-based ‘04, with Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Petit Verdot, offers rich deep cassis and cherry fruit, spicy cedar, and minerality. Touch leaner than previous, but nicely zesty.’ - Platter’s SA Wine Guide 2009, 4.5*
