Critics Ratings
‘Handsome, ageworthy Cabernet Sauvignon, augmented with splashes of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Stern ‘05 is reflective of the vintage but adequate savoury, ripe flesh beneath dense tannin barrier ensures future rewards; allow 3-4 yrs before broaching. 70% new oak for 2 years.’ - Platter’s SA Wine Guide 2009, 4.5*
‘Juicy blueberry fruit, blackcurrant, tobacco, cedar. Chewy but soft tannins, perfumed and dense. Nicely combined, and gets the balance of juicy fruit and savoury complexity.’ - Richard Hemming MW, JancisRobinson.com, 17.5/20 (Jun 2012)
