An opportunity to invest in the work of exciting upcoming artist, Jemma Gold.
About the Artist:
Jemma Gold is a 19-year-old student and emerging young artist currently living in Cape Town.
Gold received full colours for art in her final school year, as well as Dux Literarum for being placed first her grade. She received 100% for Art in her Matric Finals.
This artwork, titled Kauthar was published in the 2018 November Issue of the SA Art Times, under their New Blood Initiative.
About the artwork:
“I AM MORE THAN A PHASE; I AM A REVOLUTION”
In the words of the artist: “This piece is an ode to the beautiful, powerful Kauthar, aimed at expressing the strength and grace of an individual who touched my heart during my final year at school. Her poetry, which is embedded into the details of this portrait, talk about her struggles with being a coloured, Muslim girl growing up today. I had the privilege to listen her present her slam poetry live in our morning English classes, that always left the entire class in absolute awe.”

This amount will be donated in full by Strauss and Co to the Golf RSA Help Fund.
