Back Story: A train station that has been left abandoned for over 100 days as South African railway trains have stopped operating as a means of trying to keep Covid-19 infections lower. Thousands have to resort to alternative forms of transport to and from their workplaces and schools.
This image was submitted to Stilled Life, a community photographic platform launched to give South Africans a place to share their Covid-19 stories, and has been selected as one of the top 100 images that will be on view at the 2020 RMB Turbine Art Fair. The proceeds of the sale of this lot will benefit the BASA Artists Relief Fund.
