About this Item
When one considers the long list of acclaim and reputation built from releasing top quality wines, vintage after vintage, from their restored 220 year old cellar on Paardebosch farm on the slopes of the Paardeberg in the Swartland, it's hard to imagine that David & Nadia Sadie established this brand as recent as 2010 only. The wines are characteristically fine and elegant, expressive of the places they come from. The focus lies on a spectrum of organic, old and dry land bush vine vineyards from different areas with different soil types throughout the Swartland, farmed by like-minded people. Considered one of the 'young guns' during the fine wine revolution of the Swartland, David's wines are now considered among the best in the region and beyond.
Notes
Each David & Nadia wine is in its own single-bottle wooden case.

‘"The more Chenin Blanc we can make as a country, the better," says David Sadie, and it's hard to disagree when they are as good as this one. Drawn from eight vineyards planted between 1968 and 1986, it’s youthful, lightly wooded and textured, with thatch and fennel aromas, some phenolic backbone and citrus and umami flavours. 2023-28.’ – Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2022, 93/100
‘The 2021 Chenin Blanc is a blend of eight vineyards and 18 pickings, matured for 11 months in neutral French oak and 18% in concrete. It has a very cohesive bouquet with lemon verbena, lanolin, ginger, and orange rind aromas. The palate is very well balanced with a saline entry, fine grip, touches of sour lemon and orange rind, quite persistent towards the finish. Superb.’ – Neal Martin, Vinous, 92/100 (Sept 2022)
‘Complex blend tweaked in 2020, but Chenin (49%) still leads Roussanne, Semillon, Marsanne, Clairette, Viognier, Verdelho and Grenache Blanc, plus Colombard. Subtle florality, with lemon edge to stonefruit vivacity. Harmonious and exciting, it lingers forever.’ – Platter’s SA Wine Guide 2022, 4.5* (94 pts)
"Seventeen vineyards, 25 pickings and no co-fermentation" says David Sadie of this tasty, complex cuvée of Chenin Blanc with 51% Roussanne, Semillon, Marsanne, Clairette, Viognier, Verdelho, Grenache Blanc and Colombard. Perfumed, focused and textured for a white with just 12.5% alcohol, it's waxy, subtle and nuanced, with citrus, apple and nectarine flavours and very little oak. 2021-26.’ – Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2021, 93/100
‘Driven by old-vine Paardeberg Chenin Blanc, with the other 51% made up of Clairette Blanche, Semillon, Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, Verdelho, Viognier, Marsanne and Colombard, this is a seamless cuvée from David and Nadia Sadie that's enjoying its twelfth release. Spicy and perfumed, with subtle skin contact tannins, nuanced oak and wax, pear, peach and lemongrass flavours. 2023-28.’ – Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2022, 93/100
‘Aged for 11 months in used French barrels and some foudre. It has a well-defined bouquet with oily, resinous scents, something almost Germanic here. The palate is very well balanced with a touch of spice on the entry, fine acidity, orange rind and fennel towards the appealing finish. Just a lovely, quite cerebral wine.’ – Neal Martin, Vinous, 91/100 (Sept 2022)
