About this Item
Van Loggerenberg Wines was started by Lukas and wife Roxanne with their first vintage in 2016. The 2020 vintage is the fifth release for Lukas – a rising star, Young Gun and 2018 Young Winemaker of the Year by Tim Atkin. Lukas grew up in Rawsonville in the Breederivier valley, and was always surrounded by vineyards and wine. His wines are produced in the Devon Valley and the grapes are sourced from Stellenbosch, Paarl and Swartland. Each wine and it’s name has a specific story behind it and his wines have become extremely sought-after.
'For us everything in life is about camaraderie, about savoring moments with those closest to you. However, camaraderie is not only between friends but also between the farmer, workers in the vineyards and vines and about the final product being shared between friends over a good meal.' – Lukas Van Loggerenberg

‘Yields were tiny here in 2018, with only 880 bottles produced from this two-hectare site. Planted in 1960 on what is a high-altitude site for Paarl, it's a taut, laser-like Chenin Blanc with incredible focus and precision, oatmeal and citrus fruit, a hint of oak and a saline finish.2020-28’ -Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2019, 95/100
‘Chalky and lightly spiced aroma then the fruit bursts in your mouth. Creamy ripe citrus, ripe apple, almost pineapple but not that exotic, and super-fresh. Chalky finish and impressive length.’ – Julia Harding MW, JancisRobinson.com, 17/20 (Sep 2019)
