About this Item
Van Loggerenberg Wines was started by Lukas and wife Roxanne with their first vintage in 2016. The 2020 vintage is the fifth release for Lukas – a rising star, Young Gun and 2018 Young Winemaker of the Year by Tim Atkin. Lukas grew up in Rawsonville in the Breederivier valley, and was always surrounded by vineyards and wine. His wines are produced in the Devon Valley and the grapes are sourced from Stellenbosch, Paarl and Swartland. Each wine and it’s name has a specific story behind it and his wines have become extremely sought-after.
'For us everything in life is about camaraderie, about savoring moments with those closest to you. However, camaraderie is not only between friends but also between the farmer, workers in the vineyards and vines and about the final product being shared between friends over a good meal.' – Lukas Van Loggerenberg

'Quite a deep honeyed character. Edgy and taut – really on an exciting tightrope of lime and honey ricocheting around the palate with a dry chalky finish. With such delicacy and well-judged acidity, plus fruit. Sophisticated dry wine from obviously well-scouted ingredients. What a talent! Long and so thrilling on the finish. The word tang was made for this wine. Such an impact on the palate.' - Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, 18/20 (May 2020)
'The fresh, vibrant bouquet presents orange blossom, vanilla pod and light yellow plum aromas that are beautifully defined. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, quite sappy in style and full of tension. A touch of stem ginger and lemongrass lends complexity on the finish. Excellent.' - Neal Martin, Vinous, 93/100 (Aug 2018)
'Kameraderie hails from a two-hectare vineyard on a combination of granite, sandstone and clay, planted in 1960. Picked twice for complexity and balance, it combines exotic, peachy notes with taut balancing acidity and a savoury bite. Another brilliant release from my young winemaker of the year. 2019-25.' - Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2018, 95/100
